Tack and Tuck officially opened its doors in 1997 where it started in a small office of Impi Wire by Edwina Davison. It was opened to meet the demands and help the riders buy quality horse tack and saddlery without having to travel all the way to Cape Town or Port Elizabeth to do so.
Since then it has grown from strength to strength moving into its own premises a few months later. It then branched out into supplying quality horse feed to the Garden Route area from Mosselbay, George, Outshoorn and Plett. The tack shop was sold to Sian Goussard nee Jose in 1999 and remained on Courtney Street until it was bought by Paul Davison in 2007 and moved to the George Industrial area. In 2020 the shop was moved to a more equestrian area, near the airport in George.
Tack and Tuck began expanding at a rapid rate trying to secure the best tack products and horse feed in the Garden Route area as well as renting out horse boxes to those who wanted to travel with their horses. Tack and Tuck later opened up a small outlet in Outshoorn but was subsequently closed down after the area was struck with heavy droughts causing a financial difficulty in the area.
We believe we have a knowledgeable tack shop with almost over 100 years of equestrian knowledge behind us and have therefore made it our motto of the Tack shop “where Knowledge matters”.
We strive to be the best Tack shop in the area and one of the best in the country offering advice as well as the top products that South Africa has to offer.
